The committee recommends that the institution demonstrate institutional capability for the iniation, implementation, and completion of the QEP. |

The Committee recommends the following for improving the institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the plan: |

identify the QEP Director, develop a detailed job description, and ensure the director has the appropriate authority to implement and manage the QEP initiatives, |

The College identified Patricia (Patty) Phillips as the QEP Director and a campus-wide announcement was emailed January 7, 2014. A detailed job description was completed including the appropriate authority to implement and manage the QEP. To ensure the director has sufficient authority to successfully implement and manage the QEP, this position now reports directly to the Vice-President of Academic and Student Services. An organization chart is provided as evidence. Refer to QEP (Revised) page 63. |

The College developed a detailed Implementation Plan including who is responsible for each element of the QEP. Detailed job descriptions were completed for the CAC, LAP Director (Dean of LAP), and the Supplemental Instruction staff, Lead Supplemental Instructor, and QEP Director. The QEP Review Committee also developed a QEP Assessment Plan, detailing data collection responsibilities. Refer to QEP (Revised) pages 24 and 63. |

The College defined the role and scope of the QEP Review Committee by creating a standing committee. Administration approved the Committee and the Committee’s description and scope of responsibilities has been included in the Lenoir Community College Procedures Manual. Student representation on the QEP Review Committee was discussed. Due to the short duration (20 hours per module) of the developmental math sequence, the decision was made not to include students in the QEP Review Committee. Minutes of the QEP Review Committee are listed below. Refer to QEP (Revised) pages 7-8. |

To ensure faculty remain involved in the process both developmental and curricular math faculty are involved in the QEP Review Committee as noted under membership in the LCC Procedures Manual. The QEP Review Committee is responsible for monitoring implementation and evaluating the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan. In doing so, it uses a comprehensive approach, taking into account not only the resources and processes of education but also the evaluation of the results of the plan’s interventions. The QEP Review Committee makes recommendations for improvements to the QEP. One of the responsibilities of the QEP Review Committee includes ensuring continued involvement of faculty, staff, students, administrators, and others. |

Both developmental and curricular math faculty remain informed through periodic divisional meetings, Learning Assistance Program meetings, SACSCOC and QEP webpages, and QEP Review Committee minutes. QEP Updates are posted in the QEP Review Committee minutes, as well as SACSCOC and QEP webpages accessible on the Employee Intranet for not only developmental and curricular math faculty, but for all faculty. All faculty are also updated during Faculty/Staff meetings and Professional Development Day. Other opportunities include Administrative Council meetings, Institutional Effectiveness meetings, and Academic Affairs meetings. Refer to QEP (Revised) pages 7-8. |
